Types Of Bed
There are many types of beds that you are able to choose from – which is great because you are sure to find one that you will fall in love with immediately. Ultimately the one you decide on will be based upon the style, size, and color.
Platform Bed
This is actually one of the more unusual types of beds that is quite trendy and best used in bedrooms with a modern theme. The king or queen mattress sits on a simple bed frame that is slightly above the ground not leaving much room to store things underneath it. It has a headboard that is cushioned to match the bed frame and that curves slightly to the back. At first glance it reminds you of an oversized couch. These are slightly more expensive then the more basic types of beds.
There are some platform beds that have a more basic design to them and are much more affordable. They have the same type of bed frame – but instead of a headboard they have four posts on each corner of the frame. These beds can cost as much as $5,000.
Sleigh Beds
These are very trendy beds that you are best used in contemporary homes. The mattress sits on a simple bed frame and can hold both kind and queen mattresses. The legs of the frame are slightly curved to match the headboards on either end of the bed. These headboards both curve towards the outer end of the bed to create the look of a sleigh. These cost between $1,000 to $2,000.
Style
The type of bed that you choose is important – but you also have to consider the way it is styled. Most people will choose to use the type of beds that are made with a dark wood. This helps it to match any theme that you use and can work with both light and dark colors on the wall.
Along with color some people will choose a bed that has etchings of flowers, angels, or other designs in the headboard. These etchings can be simple or very ornate. Be careful what you choose because it can offset the rest of the room.
